What is the General Hints on Developing Confidence?

Take every opportunity to speak before an audience. It helps you to get used to the sound of your own voice, and to having other people watch you as you speak. Ask a question, for example, or simply stand up and say, briefly, how much you have enjoyed the speech. Take part in debates. The more speaking you do, the more confident you will feel.

But never eliminate, or try to eliminate, all feeling of excitement before you speak. This is different from fear. Fear tends to paralyze, or at least to hamper, the action of mind and body. A Moderate pleasant excitement stimulates your heart, your breathing and your mind, and makes you speak better.
